How to make news

Today we went to Susi's school again, to get a tour. It is a nice school, and they have a lot of expensive equipment for the students to play with. They had audio rooms with sound booths where they re-recorded sounds that was missing on the original films, and editing rooms, and a video studio.
So far i havn't seen a single PC over here, everyone uses MAC's and this school was full of them too, i hornestly can't see what is so facinating about them, and i have worked with them for over a month. Actually im starting to hate them more and more, because they are just so inconvenient, even when you get to know them! Also I have seen people wearing cloths and hats that says "MAC" and "apple" which is really funny i think, because they think it's cool, but it's soo geeky. But i guess some of you like that.
MAC computers in a classroom
Well who am i to judge, i write 10 lines on my blog about it...

This is some photos i took from the video recording room, where the students were recording the daily news.

When Susi's tour was over, we went to Maysles so Steen could see what we do there. We talked about the things we are going to change on the website for Maysles, you can check out the list here
When we shoved Steen the office, we went into the cinema and filmed some interviews with Andreas and I, we talked about how it has been to be an intern here in NYC, i think it's going to be used for some government thing, but i might just pop up online sometime when we get home. I will keep an eye on it and post it here if i can.

After work i went home and grabed a quick sandwich and then i went to the movies to watch "Coraline" after recommendation from Susi and some other of my friends. It is an animated movie, and it is shown in something called "Real-D" so you get the 3D-glasses, but it wasn't like the old red/green glasses, there was no color in them, but they had an incredible effect on the screen. It looked really nice with the extra dimension in the teater, it gave the movie much more depth. It worked really well with the Animated movie. The movie it self was great visually, and i liked the characters and mood of the movie, but the storyline was a bit boring.

On my way home from the cinema there was a big fuzz on the sidewalk, and people were standing on all the corners redirecting people. It turned out they were shooting "Ugly Betty" where i live. You heard it here first! ;)

This is the first time i have seen a shooting on the street, even though i have heard that there are a lot of them, as you could imagine with all the movies that has some New York City in them.

At the Art School

Tuesday we went to the School Susi teaches, because she had to work at the school that day. That way we could work on the website and her blog with her, instead of working on it home. It was also nice to come and see her school and come to the classes, because we were in the classroom while she was teaching the rest of the students. The classes in this school is very similar to the classes in HTX CPH West were i went before I started at the New Media School in Køge. The students were introduced to some technical stuff, and then they had to remember it, because they were going to get tested on it the next week. And also they watched some movies were they analysed the shots and told Susi what these particular shots were good for and so on...
We worked on her blog so now it is working and she can post all the news about the documentary, as she wants. It still needs to look good though. We also came up with some concepts for her current website at lostinthecrowd.net but I don't have the images right here, so you will have to see them later. And we also started uploading the trailer for the documentary to various sites.

Tomorrow Susi has promised us a full tour of the School and she also invited Steen, so I am looking forward to this.

Blizzard over Manhatten !!! :O

So we had a blizzard over Manhatten sunday night/ monday morning, so when i arrived at Susi's house she was surprised to se me, because everyone usually takes a day off when it snows. I didn't seem like much snow in Denmark, but a lot of places were closed, and her childrens school was closed, so they were also home.
Andreas and i started spreading the word about her movie over the internet, which we did by making her a myspace page, which is a real pain in the ass! The visuals are so difficult to make interesting because everything is pre-programmed by Myspace. We are still working on it, because we want to change the images and the layout, which should be possible...
It must have been a hard day, because when i got home i went straight to bed.
But from now on i work with Susi mondays and tuesdays. Either at her place or the Art School where she teaches.

The nice Lounge in NYC

Our teacher Steen came to visit us this week. He arrived on Saturday, and we went to a restaurant to welcome him. He was kind of tired after the flight, so he went to bed early, and the rest of us went to a koncert at the Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn, I knew this girl who was a singer in a band named "Dream Bitches", and they were playing tonight together with some other bands. Unfortunatly they had allready played when we arrived, so we didn't get to hear them. But we had a beer and listened to the other bands, which was allright.
After that we went to this place called "230 Fifth" which is a club/lounge on 20th floor of this building not so far from where i live. The club is diveded into to floors, the 20th floor is the dancefloor and inside area, and the 21st floor is the rooftop, which is heated and has a really nice view over the city.

...Sunday i had hangovers.
